During their quest to retrieve Kamadeva’s missing bow and arrow, Aru Shah and her squad have to face some of the biggest and nastiest monsters the Otherworld has to offer. Come along on this survey and see if you have the kind of gumption it takes to emerge victorious.
Heartless Zombies
We all have preconceived notions about zombies. They’re mindless, they’re stinky, and they have only one goal: to feast on our juicy, succulent brains. For the most part, such stereotypes are well-founded. In the case of the Heartless, however, these guys are innocent humans who were somehow transformed into the walking undead. There’s still a chance the Heartless can be saved, so you know, watch the face when you fight them.
Angry Swans
Let’s say you forgot to make an appointment to see Kamedeva, the god of love, and now you have to steal a key to get into his office. Pro tip: There’s one in the swan’s nest outside the building. Another pro tip: Don’t take it without asking. Kamadeva’s guard swan is known to grow three stories tall and attack intruders violently when threatened. Also, take it from Mini and protect yourself against bird flu!
Giant Crabs
Usually, the worst thing a crab can do to you is pinch your foot when you accidentally step on it while at the beach. When you venture outside the Palace of Varuna, though, you’re more likely to encounter crustaceans with the ability to grow to the size of a submarine and develop an appetite for young questers. When battling a giant blue crab, don’t expect it to break out into song like Sebastian from The Little Mermaid. Seriously, don’t even bring it up. It’s a touchy subject.
Snakelike Nagas
The naga are a race of mystical serpentine creatures considered divine in some regions of India. They are usually on good terms with the Council of Gods and have lived a peaceful existence for centuries. If you end up getting on the bad side of a naga or nagini, though, either by betraying their trust or stealing one of their sacred treasures, a snake bite will be the least of your worries.
