Hypable has the cover and an excerpt from the finale we’ve all been waiting for, The Tower of Nero. (Okay we have the cover too.) But they go one better and have the first two chapters! We gave it a read and have a little rundown for you.
1. Epic cover.
That’s gotta be Python, which we’ve been waiting for, of course. We’re pleasantly surprised by the prominence of his trusty, possibly indestructible uke. The whole thing is terrifyingly awesome. Although…
2. Ophidiophobes beware.
If you haven’t gathered that by the cover, the first chapter will clue you in. Snakes abound. And chapter one has a special kind of snake called an amphisbaena, which is mind-bogglingly cool but we’ll let you discover it on your own.
3. Strangeness on a train.
We are suckers for a good action sequence on a moving train. Uncle Rick serves it up and then some with monsters, gladiators, and major action. Seriously, a face is used as a battering ram. Not Lester’s, if you can believe it, but he does almost dislocate his jaw. (Spoilers?)
4. Toilets are big.
Toilets on trains can be a challenge, but we’ve never seen them worked into a rip-roaring mini-battle before. Not even just toilets, but intrigue around visiting the loo. Confusion about the word “loo.” (We’re only calling it “the loo” from now on.)
5. So much Meg.
She’s growing up! Also she’s in peril! We’re not sure if we can take it, but we know we’re going to try.
