British newspaper The Guardian published a highly satisfying interview with Uncle Rick on the occasion of The Tower of Nero hitting bookshelves. It goes deep, with discussion of Disney+, the original Percy Jackson films, his thoughts on LGBTQ representation in his books, and of course, our favorite book of the year. See below for a quote.
“What started with The Lightning Thief ends with The Trials of Apollo. If I do go back to this world, it might be for the occasional one-off, but I like the feeling of being able to pivot more quickly from one idea to the other…. [I]n the sense that there’s a sense of accomplishment and excitement, I’m glad to have finished it, and I’m excited for what comes next. But it is also the last time I’m with these characters and it’s bittersweet to say goodbye. I hope I’ve given the readers a good send-off.”
You definitely have, Rick. Thanks for 15 great books!
