There’s a lot to learn about the book’s underwater world, including the high school devoted to marine science, Harding-Pencroft Academy. Rick will break it down, sharing more about the four houses of Harding-Pencroft and the young heroes who study there.

While we’re on the subject of science, Daughter of the Deep is something of a first for Rick, as it’s rooted in science rather than mythology. Join the tour and learn how the wonders of the ocean informed his writing.

Real-Life Exploration

Rick wouldn’t be Rick without a commitment to authenticity. So it’s no surprise that he literally went underwater to prep for this project, going scuba diving in Aruba and Iceland. Fingers crossed we’ll get some good stories, pics, and video.

Jules Verne’s timeless underwater adventure looms large in this book’s creation, along with the 1954 movie from Walt Disney Studios that it inspired. We’ll learn on the tour how the new novel is an extension of Verne’s visionary book.
