There’s so much to love about author Rick Riordan. Somewhere at the top of that list is his serious commitment to deeply researching the worlds that he writes. For example, his study of Roman mythology in preparation for the Heroes of Olympus series was so thorough that he learned Italian while he was at it!
The same holds true for Daughter of the Deep, aside from being a major Jules Verne buff, Rick has seemingly been on a mission to get his Ten-Thousand-Hours underwater, exploring marine life. This video shows him making “author research” look pretty darn appealing.
In case you missed it, Rick gave us a great blog post on more scuba action at RickRiordan.com after his aquatic-themed trip to Iceland. Head over there for more detail and lots of pictures.
