Fox spirits, magic-wielding goblins, weather-manipulating dragons, and greedy tigers . . . Oh, and did we mention that they’re all in SPACE?!
The Thousand Worlds of Dragon Pearl are unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of a few key landmarks you’ll want to keep an eye out for.
Jinju
There’s probably a point in everyone’s life when they want to run away from home. In Min’s case, though, she’s looking to leave the entire planet. In order to find her missing brother, Min must escape her home world of Jinju, AKA one of the worst places in the universe a fox spirit could grow up in. Rife with poverty, discrimination, and corrupt patrol guards, Jinju isn’t exactly a top tourist destination. If you do somehow wind up on the barely-terraformed planet, however, try the vegetable fritters in the Market District. We hear they’re the best you can find in the Outer Rim.
The Pale Lightning
A top-of-the-line Space Force battle cruiser. Home to officers, technicians, and cadets of all shapes, sizes, and supernatural races (as long as they confine themselves to human form). The Pale Lightning is equipped with your standard barracks, mess hall, medical bay, and of course, artificial gravity to keep everyone on their feet. There’s a lot for a cadet to experience and learn on the ship. Unless you’re like Min and almost immediately assigned to toilet-cleaning duty. Hey, everyone’s got to start somewhere.
The Ghost Sector
This is a section of the universe that not even the most thrill-seeking of space pirates would dare enter. The Ghost Sector received its lovely name after the population of an entire planet, The Fourth Colony, was wiped out by vicious disease spirits. Some say the planet is still uninhabited. Others say it is haunted by vengeful ghosts. Either way, it’s incredibly bad luck to even set foot on its surface.
So, naturally, you can bet this is where Min and her friends are going to end up at some point.
(And, speaking of betting, we recommend that you avoid Nari’s gambling parlor on Jinju at all costs. . . . )
