The American Library Association just announced their award-winning books for 2020. We’re so happy for Carlos Hernandez and Kwame Mbalia for receiving much deserved recognition for their debut novels.

Sal & Gabi Break the Universe won the Pura Belpré Author Award, which honors a Latino writer whose book best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience.

And Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky won a Coretta Scott King Award, which recognizes an African-American author and illustrator of outstanding books for children and young adults.
