While on tour for his latest book, The Ship of the Dead, Rick Riordan revealed what to watch for in 2018.
Get ready to mark your calendars. Next year’s going to be a good one!
Aru Shah and the End of Time
(March 27, 2018)
Aru Shah and the End of Time, written by New York Times best-selling author Roshani Chokshi, is a hilarious, action-packed adventure based on Hindu mythology. It is the first in a four-book series, and also the first of many books to be released as part of the new Rick Riordan Presents imprint, so there’s more to come! We. Can’t. Wait.
The Burning Maze
(May 1, 2018)
Lester’s baaaaack! The third entry in the five-book Trials of Apollo series, The Burning Maze, will feature—of course—poor Apollo-turned-mortal and his demigod master, Meg. We’ll also be reunited with Piper McLean, Jason Grace, and Grover Underwood! This is definitely floating to the top of our summer reading list.
Brooklyn House Magicians Manual
(May 1, 2018)
Gods and creatures and gylphs, oh my! Narrated by Carter Kane (with snarky asides by his sister, Sadie), this book is the official guide to all the Egyptian magic and characters from the Kane Chronicles trilogy, and it’s also coming out in May. So many books, so little time.
The Kane Chronicles Get a New Look
(April 2018)
If you haven’t read the Kane Chronicles yet, you may want to wait until April, when all three books will get a new look. Stay tuned to see the pure magic.
The Magnus Chase Coloring Book
(August 14, 2018)
More Magnus! We’re still coloring our Percy Jackson Coloring Book, which came out in August 2017, but we’ll be ready for this one by next summer. All those great characters and Norse designs to get lost in!
The Lightning Thief Illustrated Edition
(August 14, 2018)
Oh. My. Gods. Just when we thought the news couldn’t get any better . . . there’s going to be an illustrated edition of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 1: The Lightning Thief! AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL (scary Minotaur and all). It’s the entire novel, with full-color artwork by series illustrator John Rocco on every page.
Told you it was lining up to be an awesome 2018! Watch Rick Riordan reveal the news himself during his tour stop at the Library of Congress here.
