Most people claim they’re afraid of sharks. But the sea is filled with dark, menacing creatures. And when the water gets choppy, you’re going to wish you had a shark by your side to help fend off the dangers of the deep.
Take Gemini Twain, for example. Sure, he might be kind of prickly and a bit of a control freak. But he’s also a straight shooter and expert in weapons and combat systems. So, if hypothetically the Harding-Pencroft Academy were under attack, there are few students you would rather have watching your back.
Ways of the Shark
Gemini is the freshman prefect of House Shark. This means that when it comes to command, combat, and logistics, he’s the top dog in his class. (Not to be confused with the dog named Top, who also attends HP).
Unfortunately, the power can go to his head just a little bit. He’s obsessed with the rules and regulations of Harding-Pencroft. And if you show up late to anything, he will immediately lose all respect for you. He’s basically your typical, annoying overachieving hall monitor type. But before you even think of giving this kid a wedgie, remember that he knows 75 ways to kill you with his bare hands.
What’s Your Sign?
Before you ask: Yes, that is his real name. Some believe that his actual name is James or Jim or something and that he received the nickname ‘Gemini’ because of the twin guns he wears on his belt. The truth is that his parents are just hippies who are super into horoscopes and crystals and tarot cards. Those things interested them more than, you know, actually being quality parents to their son.
And hey, don’t let this information get out there. He has a reputation to maintain.
Culture Shock
This may come as a surprise to you, but Gem doesn’t have the easiest time making friends at Harding-Pencroft. It could be all the time he spends going over military drills and polishing the school’s firearms. Or it could be that he’s the only Black Mormon at the school. After all, not too many Latter-Day Saints from Utah are lining up to attend a marine science academy. Suffice to say, Gem is prone to putting his foot in his mouth. Like that time he called Nelinha da Silva from House Cephalopod “the scholarship kid.”
Neither Nelinha, nor her best friend, Ana Dakkar, have forgiven Gem for being so demeaning and insensitive. All told, he should be grateful he didn’t wake up the next day to a pile of frozen squids in his bed.
New Assignment
Gem is no stranger to being tested. You don’t become a prefect status without going above and beyond. But his toughest assignment yet is on the horizon: guarding the life of Ana Dakkar.
