The Kane Chronicles
To have any chance of battling the Forces of Chaos, the Kanes must revive the sun god Ra. First, they must search the world for the three sections of the Book of Ra. Then Sadie must learn to chant its spells. One problem: no one knows where Ra is.

More about The Throne of Fire
Carter and Sadie Kane—siblings, Egyptian magicians, and former hosts of the gods Horus and Isis—stopped Set, the god of evil, from destroying the world. But now they have a new challenge on their hands. Apophis, the serpent of Chaos, is rising from his prison in the Abyss, a layer deep within the mysterious Duat. If he emerges, he will plunge the world into ruin.
Carter and Sadie would prefer that didn’t happen. Luckily, there may be a way to keep the snake from escaping. Of course, it means putting themselves in mortal danger…but what else is new?
To stop Apophis, they must wake the sun god Ra by chanting a spell from the Book of Ra. There’s just one problem: No one knows where Ra is. No one knows where the Book of Ra is. And no one knows if the plan will work. Okay, there are three problems.
Although they are no longer hosting Isis and Horus, the Kanes won’t be alone in their quest. Bast, the best cat in the world, will be with them. So will a new friend, Bes, the dwarf god of ugliness and tight Speedos. Anubis, Sadie’s not-so-secret crush despite being the three-thousand-year-old god of death, has promised to keep watch. Then there are the Brooklyn House initiates. Walt Stone is a master of magical amulets and a hottie who has most certainly captured Sadie’s attention, and Jaz is a whiz of a healer when she’s not in a coma.
Only one person is missing: Zia Rashid. But Carter has a plan for finding her. After all, if they’re out searching for a missing scroll, why not look for the girl of his dreams at the same time?
Their search sends them far and wide. Sadie and Walt go deep into a tomb and discover that, yes, mummies really do come to life. Carter and Bes tackle a trio of water demons infesting the waters of Zia’s old village. And scroll in hand, they journey back into the Duat to the final resting place of Ra. But will the spell work, or will Sadie’s head explode before she can finish it? And if she does keep her head together, will Ra be in any shape to deal with the serpent of Chaos?
