Ah-Puch (pronounced ah-POOCH) is the Maya god of death, disaster, and darkness. He’s also commonly referred to as “the Stinking One.” Many years ago, he ruled over the lowest level of the underworld, known as Xib’alb’a (pronounced shee-bahl-BAH).
